Kinja'd!!!

This was kind of an impulse purchase.

Kinja'd!!!

Did you know KTM make road bikes?

I was only looking for a carbon fork to replace the unneeded and heavy Suntour suspension fork on my current bike:

Well, one thing led to another via a very circular path of almost buying other things and I’m now the owner of a Revelator Sky frame, and another project.

It’s very orange. I like orange.

The plan is to build it up with either a 105 or GRX groupset and some mild gravel tyres as most of the roads around here are closer to gravel tracks than roads.

Timescale to completion? Who knows. I’ve got to gather all the parts together first.

Wow, that’s a really good looking frame. I knew they made bikes but always laughed and I didn’t think they would ever go anywhere.

I did NOT know this tantalizing fact...

But where do I mount the 2-stroke engine?

That’s a great looking frame! Pending pickup I just got rid of a box full of old mountain bike parts I have been hauling from place to place the past 4 years and doing nothing with. Can’t wait to get rid of that “project”

Turns out they’ve only been at it since 1964, it used to be part of the other KTM  but that was broken up.

You’ll certainly never lose it in the woods.

Interesting. I’ve seen a couple of their bikes over the years, but assumed they were just another manufacturer’s frame rebadged.

Those KTM frames are not shy creatures that’s for sure. They do ride very nicely as well...a mate had a 2016 carbon hardtail XC MTB from KTM and I found it to be a very comfortable, sweet handling rocket of a bike.

I don’t think they make the frames, but they do paint them. I suspect they are made by a contract manufacturer somewhere in the Far East.
